Seeing Africa, Living Africa is a participatory project that places external perceptions of Africa alongside self-representations by people living on the African continent.
Rather than defining what Africa is, this project explores how Africa is imagined and experienced.
The aim is not to correct perceptions, but to make visible the gaps between representation and lived experience.
This project also examines whether public perceptions are associated with sources of information, personal experience, and attitudes toward international solidarity and protection. Collected data will be visualised to highlight patterns and differences.
This project approaches perception as a structural issue of knowledge production and representation, and seeks to visualise these patterns through survey data.
